Nothing Stops An Artist

Everything That’s Currently Sticking into or Out of Me in Some Way, Shape or Form:

  • Nerve blocker (aka a “regional infusion” or something) and consequent lines and dressings on the left side of my neck that makes be not able to turn my head properly to the right.
  • My left arm (the sling I’m wearing forces it to be sticking out on an angle to my body).
  • A drip coming from the wound on my arm to drain any blood/fluids if it bleeds.
  • The needle and line from my accessed port.
  • Two IVs on my right forearm (which the anaesthetist thankfully assured me would be put in while I was asleep, and that he’d do his best to put them in less annoying spots like the hand or elbow). One of the IVs has two lines coming off it (one of which leads to a morphine drip) and and the second IV has no lines off it, in case I need a blood transfusion (which I apparently needed twice in theatre).
  • A catheter (no more need be said).
  • Leg drip to drain any fluids from the wound on my leg.
  • And I’m just going to count my moon-boot too because why not. (Because that’s what happens when they take a 20cm length of bone from your leg to put in your arm!)

I can’t sit up by myself at the moment, and my shoulder hurts when I get help to, so bed rest for me for now 🤷‍♀️ When the surgery to remove a bone cancer tumour and reconstruct your shoulder and arm takes a whole day, and only happened two days ago, I guess that’s not entirely surprising.

I was also told that at some point tomorrow I will see my first physio so we’ll see how that goes 😊

But nothing stops an artist!

Also SUPER exciting news coming soon!! 👕🐉👀
